We love science!
5th December 2014
We have been learning about floating and sinking for the past two weeks. We made predictions about whether an object would float or sink. Then we carried out experiments to see if we were accurate. We recorded our predictions and results on special record sheets. We also investigated how we could make objects that normally float (like an orange) sink and how we could make objects that normally sink (like a paper clip) float. When we were finished our experiments, we made boats out of tinfoil. Luckily none of them sank like the Titanic!

Dogs Trust visit
3rd October 2014
This week Dawn from Dogs Trust visited all the classes in Scoil Chríost Rí. We learned all about taking care of dogs and how to be safe around dogs. We learned that dogs need many of the same things as humans to be healthy and happy. We now know how important it is to ask permission before petting a dog. If a dog is bothering us, we should stand still or curl in a ball and pretend to be a stone. Then the dog will get bored and go away. Thanks for visiting us, Dawn!
